I plan to determine if the use of technology in the mathematics classroom has a positive impact on lower level math students' learning compared to lower level mathematics classrooms with very little use of technology.
Who: Lower level math students
What: Using more technology other than just graphing calculators and interactive whiteboards
Why: increasing technology will have a positive impact on student learning and motivation
*The term "technology" may be too broad for this topic. I have decided to narrow that down to the following statement:

I really like how you narrowed your research to just math. I have always been taught with using manipulatives but there is so much technology out there that I would love to see what the research states!
ReplyDeleteI think this is an interesting topic to explore. However, I think it might be a little broad because many teachers use technology in the classroom in the form of games for math (from what I've seen at my school). It would be interesting to see if different types of technology is more productive for lower level students.

I will be anxious to see what you find out. My district is purchasing yet another software license for an interactive Math program called Britannica Smart Math. I have looked at it and I think the kids will really like it, however I just wonder if it is the miracle we are looking for. The other programs we purchased have not made much of a difference. I can not wait to see what your findings are.
